These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Zeph.io desktop application and related services (the "Service") provided by Zeph.io ("we", "us", or "our"), a company based in Denmark. By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Zeph.io is a Windows desktop application that provides voice dictation functionality. The application records your voice through your microphone, sends the audio to a third-party API for transcription, and optionally processes the resulting text through an AI language model for cleanup and formatting. The transcribed text is then inserted into the active application on your device.
The free tier provides access to core dictation features with the following limitations:

Pro subscriptions are available at $8/month (monthly billing) or $69/year (annual billing).
Your account is identified by a unique device identifier (UUID) generated automatically when you first launch the application. You are responsible for all activity associated with your device identifier. You may not transfer, share, or manipulate your device identifier to circumvent plan limitations.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
You retain full ownership of all content you create using the Service, including all dictated and transcribed text. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content. The transcribed text is stored locally on your device and is under your sole control.
The Service, including the application software, its design, branding, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Zeph.io and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features.
Voice transcription is performed by third-party AI models and may contain errors. Transcription accuracy depends on factors including audio quality, background noise, accent, speaking pace, and language. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any transcription. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all transcribed text before relying on it, particularly in professional, medical, legal, or other critical contexts.
Pro subscriptions are billed through LemonSqueezy, our Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you authorize LemonSqueezy to charge the applicable subscription fee to your chosen payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan).
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Monthly subscriptions renew each month; annual subscriptions renew each year.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing management link provided by LemonSqueezy. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current paid billing period. After that, your account will revert to the free tier.
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription purchase within 14 days of the initial purchase date without giving any reason, in accordance with EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU). To exercise this right, contact us at hello@getzeph.io within the 14-day period. If you have actively used the Service during the withdrawal period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service already provided.
Beyond the 14-day cooling-off period described above, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the Service, please contact us at hello@getzeph.io and we will work with you to resolve the issue or provide a refund where appropriate.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period. We will notify you of price changes in advance through the application.
We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uptime for any tier. The Service depends on third-party infrastructure (including OpenAI and Cloudflare) that is outside our direct control. We may temporarily suspend or limit the Service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Free tier users may experience reduced priority during periods of high demand.
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the application. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it before uninstalling to avoid further charges.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that could harm the Service, other users, or third parties. In the event of termination for cause, you will not be entitled to a refund for any remaining subscription period.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
These limitations do not affect any rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory applicable law, including Danish and EU consumer protection regulations.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zeph.io from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
In the event of a dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, we encourage you to first contact us at hello@getzeph.io so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally. If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be submitted to the ordinary courts of Denmark. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the application (e.g., via an in-app notification upon update) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Zeph.io regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
